Hello friends!
In our 4 years of being tenants in the city-owned building, we have been incredibly grateful for the generosity of the town to lend Flemington DIY and the community it serves the physical space at 90 Main Street. We have held great pride in our care and maintenance of the space.
This past weekend, we had an accident with the print shop power washer, which lead to excessive flooding of half the space as well as the basement next door. Our community stepped up and more than 10 volunteers came to clean up the water and help remove trash. Big thanks to everyone who lent us a fan or dehumidifier – it is because of selfless community members that we continue to exist and recover from accidents like this. Luckily, nothing major was damaged.
However, Flemington DIY received a large bill for the initial clean up by the Department of Public Works (shout out to them for working overtime on the weekend, and getting the situation handled quickly). We are reaching out to the community to donate what you can to offset unexpected costs and keep this arts organization afloat (no pun intended). Whatever you give will help!
Online donations can be sent via PayPal directly to flemingtondiy@gmail.com or visit www.flemingtondiy.org/donate.
Thank you for your continued support & please share.
PS – We are still open – and dry as a bone!
The water was nearly 4 inches high!
