Flemington DIY began in 2014 and recently moved to a beautiful new space at 26 Stangl Rd in the newly designated Flemington Arts and Cultural District. “Flemington is building a collaborative and supportive arts scene,” said DIY Executive Director Jeff Hersch. Kevin Holtermann of Kev Von Holt Gallery located on Stangl Road said, “It’s great to see the music and arts and all of Stangl bloom before my very eyes. All of us in the community striving for one goal and that is to see this town fully bloom into its FULL potential together.” He added that this was his inspiration for the We Are All In Bloom Together mural that faces the south end of Stangl where many anchor businesses are located including Lone Eagle Brewery, and recent additions Within Spirit and Skunktown Distillery.
The Opening Reception on 12/2 from 5:30-8:30 for “Take Me Home Tonight!” will feel like a party with music, food and mingling. Ben Weinman, of Dilinger Escape Plan and current guitarist of Suicidal Tendencies, will be donating band related items for a few lucky attendees to take home on opening night.
