Mardis Gras in October? Why not? If you like “trad” New Orleans style jazz, don’t miss this cool evening of hot jazz. Started by a Rutgers professor, Marshall’s Band has been entertaining New Jersey audiences for over 40 years. Its current roster includes four members who have played recently in New Orleans. Marshall’s uses little or no amplification, and plays on original instruments used 100 years ago. Written music is optional if used at all, so every tune is a unique creation formed around the other musicians, the audience and the mood.
