Exhibit on display November 1-30
Closing reception: November 30, 2-5pm
Michelle Kwiecien, Ripley (chip) Nichols, and her mom, Val Sivilli, all attended art school at Alfred University. They are exhibiting their work together to explore their personal and their artistic connections as makers, story tellers, friends and daughters.
Michelle Kwiecien is an interdisciplinary artist living in Philadelphia, PA. Through metalworking, hand paper-making, and printmaking she produces objects infused with imagery where memory, time, weight, and fragility are obscured. Her work is ritualistic in method and based heavily in material exploration. WEBSITE / INSTAGRAM
Ripley (chip) Nichols is an artist and harm reduction worker living in Philadelphia. In art school, they studied in painting, printmaking, sculpture and since then have been making zines and illustrations. They make work about relationships, life, etc. but consider the stories to be very abstract and open to interpretation. WEBSITE / INSTAGRAM
Val Sivilli employs tools, toys, feral beasts and strong opinions to make a profound nod toward expressive abstraction by combining the visceral nature of the paintbrush with the repetitive nature of printmaking expanding the narrative potential of each series. WEBSITE / INSTAGRAM
